Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Kandahar @ Les Houches

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Looking at taking a few friends To chamonix early February and notice it’s when the Kandahar race is on.
Will the pistes at Les Houches be really compromised, ie lower ones all closed?
And is the area totally overwhelmed in regards to the navettes or is it worth it for the apres etc...

Cheers in advance..

Also, side note, are there any easy transfers from the Rocky pop to courmayer or would we need to get to chamonix central to pick up a bus?

I've been to Les houches whilst the race is on and it has some effect on the mountain but it's not critical. It'd be fair to say the French, generally, aren't as keen on ski racing as the Austrians and Swiss so the traffic increase isn't too serious either. I'm not sure the Apres changes much but Chamonix is a great place to visit anytime.

The navettes are used to ferry people between the race finish and the parking areas but don't know how many are still available to go elsewhere in the valley.

@Jwh138, last time I paid attention the local LHs traffic and parking was hideous. But don't let that put you off. Presume you're planning on staying in Rocky Pop? Do note that it's quite far out of town... Bus #1 is pretty frequent but evenings out more tricky.
