Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

By the Dolomites do you just mean the Sella Ronda-connected villages, the SuperskiDolomiti lift pass areas or the general Dolomites area including many other resorts? The best area of cruisy blues in the Dolomites/off the SR is Alta Badia. The fanciest wellness hotel is the Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano. Not piste side, shuttle bus to the lift and v quiet village at night, more Michelin stars than watering holes. It’s a couple of lifts off the Sella Ronda. The biggest town in the area is Corvara, think the Arkana is a/the piste side hotel with a pool. Corvara has great scenery and is on the SR. Alta Badia has lots of on slope great lunch options, you won’t go home in the middle of the day. For a bit more nightlife, think you need Selva but more red intermediate runs there. The other 2 main corners are Canazei and Arabba. Arabba is v small and quite steep. Canazei is, I think, a short walk 1 way or another. Away from the Sella Ronda connected resorts, if you want max scenery and more nightlife, consider Cortina (close to SR), not sure much piste side there, or Madonna (in the Brenta Dolomites, similarly spectacular). Madonna has essential red connections but lots of blues. Any hotels in Spinale area will need a red home if piste side. Pradolago is the lift with easy access to cruisy blues.

That's quite a comprehensive summary of the Dolomites Cool

I was going to suggest you were exaggerating, as there's only the one place with a Michelin star in San Cassiano. But as it's got 3 of them Shocked you may technically be right!

Have a look at the Hotel Stores in San Cassiano. Ski wise, the Alta Badia sector of the Sella Ronda suits your "intermediate looking for cruise blues" better than any other resort we've ever visited. The hotel is exceptional with a very good wellness facility and just 100m from the gondola where you get a locker as part of your hotel package to leave your kit. The resort is small & very quiet but has the "couple of bars' you require.

I love San Cassiano, and the hotel containing said 3 star restaurant (Rosa Alpina) also has a family restaurant that is terrific (same kitchen) and much more affordable. Super quiet, I think only two bars, and they are not open late. But there is a bakery, a cash machine and a small Spar, all I need. I stay at the Steinrosl and can't wait to return.

Laguscei Dolomites Mountain Hotel between Corvara and Arabba. Big Pool, Welness, ski in/out on a very central location (3 directions). But in between the villages. So eating out requires own car or taxi down to either Corvara or Arabba; although hotel restaurant was reasonable (4 years ago, half board).

@Japie, that's on the Campolongo pass isn'tit? Good spot for access to lifts: right on the Sela Ronda.

@admin, Indeed! And not only Sella Ronda, but also right in to Alta Badia the Blue Sea via Cherz.
