When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First mountain - Hutt - opened on Friday last week. Crap weather 50cm base.

Sun came out over the weekend. The busiest I’ve ever seen it in June. Didn’t expect it would happen at all a few weeks ago. Great to be out playing in the snow after 8 months. Big storm due later this week should get some more base down. Only opening 5 days a week at the moment due to lack of staff.

Been a reasonable first month of the season here. Still very busy, a lot of the smaller/lower/more north areas are struggling with early season cover with delayed openings, which isn’t unusual. Hutt being higher and a bit more south has been very good though.

A bit more snow on the way tonight. Had a decent earthquake this morning just to liven things up.

Spent the whole of November in NZ last year. Would have loved to be spending a winter there too!
