Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow and Rock

Just went to purchase something from snow and rock via a cashback site, and got this message while clicking through

"As a response to current news reports concerning this merchant, we want to give our members the choice on whether to purchase through us. At this moment, we cannot guarantee that any cashback tracked will go on to be paid to TopCashback and hence on to members. Please take this into consideration when purchasing."

I know there are store closures projected, but that was reported in January...................

Snow and Rock's owners have entered into a "CVA" with all its creditors — like so many other big high street brands. A CVA is a formal insolvency process, and over 65% of companies that enter into one, eventually fail totally. In so many cases, it's just a sticking-plaster before the financial reality finally sinks in, and they go bust:

I would imagine that the internet is just crushing them, just like it has so many other chains. How many of us have been to such shops, hunted around for what we want, and then ordered it off the internet at a cheaper price?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It always amazes me just how much top end, mega-expensive clobber they (and others - eg Ellis Brigham) stock - and question how much demand there can be for it.

Maybe not too much given the current state of affairs... Confused

The website makes for curious reading - certainly hard to find new stuff among all the warehouse clearance tat.

It wasn't the lack or range of stock for me, it was their poor customer service which is why I wouldn’t bother with them. Hopefully it will push some trade to the better (real) ski shops if they disappeared.

+1 for this. I stopped using them many years ago when they stopped employing skiers & techs who knew what they were talking about. Started going downhill (no pun intended) when the original (keen outdoorsman) owner sold it to a consortium who turned it into an expensive fashion boutique.
