I did the Zermatt train from gva in the summer - 2 bikes, 2 roller bags, 1 5 year old and wife with picnic and carry oot ! Was fine in 1st class.

Ok so its coming up to 60 days before my outgoing journey to Zermatt. Just a quick question on the super day pass, if my flight is delayed can i use this on any train that day? The name suggests so but just want to be sure.
Also whats the advantage of first class again other than space, someone mentioned that makes the change @ visp easier, why is that?

@Russeh, we have just travelled back from Val d’Anniviers by bus and train to Geneva airport. 4 adults 180 CHFs for us all. My wife bought super-saver train tickets for 29 CHF each and we just had to pay the standard bus fare of 16 CHF each. Pretty good deal I thought but of course we had to take the booked train. It works going home but is a bit of a gamble going outbound. We drove out and have left the car in resort BTW. Worked out much cheaper than paying for parking in GVA as not out again for nearly 4 weeks.

@Russeh, if you are on your own, no real advantage in the change at Visp. If like me you had 4 of us wanting to sit together, then this is pretty much guaranteed in 1st but not 2nd, as it is crowded from late morn to mid afternoon on Saturday. Being a holiday skier its the only time we have been. That's the only reason, (also a better view of the mountains in all probability going up).
