Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

P&V apartments in Tignes or La Plagne- good idea?

Hi - has anyone stayed in any P&V apartments in Tignes or La Plagne? Is it good for families? We are a group of a few families with kids and we want to book somewhere for Christmas we’re we can have apartments next to each other ( some privacy but still together) . P&V prices seem very reasonable and the apartments look basic but functional. So is it recommended? Any pitfalls to consider?

"Basic but functional" is about right. You'll do well NOT to use maximum occupancy and check whether linen and towels are provided - they're very often not. But should be fine, especially if you can organise kids in one apartment and adults in another sometimes. wink Take decent knives. And don't forget to bring them back. And keep luggage to a minimum, all in soft bags which can be stuffed under beds.

@pam w, thank you. Really good advice. Wouldn’t have thought about knives and soft bags! Anything else to be aware of? Do they charge end of week cleaning or something else?

Might be a charge. Might be the option to clean it yourself. French renters generally do this v well. You'll probably pay a deposit. Need to check your holiday insurance or home insurance covers damage to holiday rentals - standard on France and probably buried somewhere in small print.

Even if you pay for cleaning,or if it is included, they will expect the kitchen to be left clean and all food stuffs removed, and sometimes bedding stripped if provided. They may ask to inspect the apartment and check the inventory before you leave so that they can refund your damage deposit.
