Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Scandinavian Mountains Airport opens at the end of the year and the first flights have been announced by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) from London Heathrow direct to SCR.
Transfer will be 30 mins to Sälen (Sweden) and under a hour to Trysil (Norway).

The thing to watch and it may have changed is that ski school runs mon to fri and the flights are on sat. So you may have to entertain those without too much experience on the Sunday before ski school starts. I mention it as my kids are quite new to it all and would have been a pain for them. So we are flying Sunday to Oslo and then driving up to Trysil for Xmas.

Also note that most accommodation in Sälen and Trysil is rented out Sunday to Sunday, so unless Skistar change this, you may have limited options for places to stay.

Not entirely true. They also have a Thurs to Sun option

, true, they have split weeks as you say but it still doesn't match up with Saturday flights. A lack of joined up thinking, unless I'm missing something obvious.
Fuller answer: some properties are available Saturday to Saturday, and most will do part weeks Sun-Thurs or Thurs-Sun. The hotels will do rooms by then night. However the majority of apartments and cabins have their weeks or part weeks with Sunday as the changeover day.
