Summer is here, and I need something to keep the excitement going. I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a good coffee table book - beautiful images of skiing/snowboarding? In particular anything to do with touring, or skiing in weird and wonderful places...
Couple of examples of the type of thing I'm after:
Below Zero: Adventures Out in the Cold
No Words For The Way Down

Consider making your own book. I'm not very creative but just did so with one of those online DIY operations and it came out pretty good. I'll do it again, and I'll probably take a few more interesting photos as a result.

The Art of Skiing. A book full of evocative vintage ski posters with some interesting articles. Great for browsing and conversation starters.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@chocksaway, I bought the OH that, we leave it in the bathroom. Friends seem to take longer toilet breaks at our house now

Sounds weird - is it just a guide to Snowbird or some new agey instruction method book or what? Mind you I'm probably a bit biased as I find whenever I'm come across Jackson Hogen (youtube, ski jorno ,realskiers) he seems to be someone who believes his own hype a bit too much.

Thanks all - a few good ideas in there. I do make my own, but I'm caught up to where I'm at for the moment!

My wife liked "Mountains" by Tim Hall well enough to buy it for me. A really thoughtful gesture. You might like it, though here's a secret: I don't. Nothing in there I couldn't have shot and I'm nobody. Don't tell herself!

That's the standard wannabe photographer response to any excellent shot: "I could have shot that". The whole, entire and total point is precisely that you didn't.

In your zest to criticize, you typed but failed to absorb my last three words. Take a look at the book first, then pop off. Lots of fine shots, but plenty of nuthin', and some out of focus. I'm trying to help someone, what are you up to?
