Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Blimey, I would have thought that you sound an ideal candidate for a lot of British chalet companies.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@eblunt, The best way to get a resort job is not to "Contact" anyone.
Go the resort you want, and present yourself to the businesses in person.
Go the local pole emploi, go to the tourist office, ski-shops, ski-schools (to work in the office), language schools (you can get a TEFL qualification relatively quickly), bars, pubs, restaurants, the lift company, the Mairie ( here they hire seasonal staff to help out). Best to come before they close in early September, as most will be shut in the inter-season.

@foxtrotzulu, Very few British chalet companies can afford to hire staff legally on French contracts, respecting the 35 hour week, the minimum wage, overtime payments, the mandatory holiday pay, the URSSAF cotisations, the training tax etc... Only the high end, owner staffed and niche operations can afford this. Most have adopted a model of outsourcing the services they can no longer legally provide ( guiding, transfers, etc.. ) and other services that are expensive to provide at small scale (laundry, catering, childcare etc.. ). The days of giving the chalet host: board, lodging, a lift pass and 200 quid to work a 48 hour week are long gone.
