Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tignes-Tour du Lac

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, Am thinking of booking a nice-looking apartment in the Tour de Lac, in Le Lavachet, Tignes. I can see on the map that it is out on the edge of town (which might be why it is relatively cheap). The owner says it is ski in/out despite this and has a picture on their website showing a piste going behind the block? Could anyone who knows Tignes please confirm that it is ski in/out as I can't see anything definitive on the piste map.

Cheers...

It’s ski in to within a few m or so; there’s a track branching off skier’s right from the piste and I know it exists because I skied down it to swap skis at Tignes Spirit ski rental which is very close indeed to the Tour de lac. But I’m not sure it’s ski out. From the ski shop I had to walk maybe 50m down the road before I branched off to the left between buildings onto an access track down onto the piste again.
If you google Tignes plan de Station and find the building on the map and the Tignes Spirit shop on the map I think you’ll be able to see what I mean.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@snowhound, Its not actually ski in / out.

However, as mentioned above, if you look on the piste map, get off the free lift Rosset, aim toward Lavachet, there is a branch track that goes all the way down to the centre, stopping conveniently next to main Lavachet bus stop, the Brasero pub and opposite the Que do Cochon pub. You are at most 50/100 yards from your property.

There is also a track opposite the bus stop (next to the underground car park) which takes you to Paquis and Chaudannes lifts.

So, not ski in/out, but very close to it and arguably better than most ski in/out places due to proximity to shops/bars/buses.

eta, there is also a cashpoint located in the underground car park entrance

Thanks both, much appreciated-I could see the track down to the residence on the map but couldn't see anyway of skiing directly down to a lift. Will have another good look around.
Cheers.
