I have been studying my skis. They are ladies Atomic C9s (and before anyone comments about them being a pretty colour - they're not. They are mushy pea green and don't match my ski outfit...). Anyway, I bought the ladies version because the bindings are supposed to be mounted slightly more forward than on a man's pair - to make it easier for women to keep their weight forward. Well, mine are 150cm and husband's are 160cm. But, I can't see a lot of difference between the two sets in the position of the mountings. How do I know if mine are mounted in the correct place?Erica

Erica ThisYear That's gross, but on most of the new Atomics, it is actually really difficult to mount the ski anywhere -but- the factory specified position, since the plates are installed there. The shop sets the spacing between front and back and release settings only.

I am not familiar with this year's C9Ls, but women's skis can vary in other ways, not just binding position, in weight (lighter), in forebody flex (softer), in boot to snow angles (ramp angle).

I would not worry about correct binding mount, but do notice that you may have even more than 1cm of front-to-back adjustability built into that binding (311 Device, is it no?).
- Warning: my specific experience is with ESS512/Xentrix/BetaRace. Read your manual! -

IF you have the manual, take a look at that. We are assured that that is meant for user adjustment, although on my older ESS Vario/Xentrix/BetaRace ones a whack with a heavy mallet was sometimes called for to move the binding.

Most of the women skiers I know move this kind of binding FORWARD (to the E or extreme position or the front-most arrow).

Thanks - yes, I've skied in them for 4 weeks this year - but always striving for improvement! The bindings are 311, and you're quite right they are lighter in weight. Also, again, you're right, I don't think there's anywhere else for the bindings to sit.
