Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It is possible the French have a problem in counting as they call 4 valleys of Courcheval, Meribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens the "3 Vallees". They must be losing millions to sell the 3 Vallees ski pass while many of us ski all the 4 valleys. So keep the secret tip to yourself.

It is indeed possible, because as any Val Thorens regular will know the fourth valley is Orelles - a small yet perfectly formed and beautiful unspoilt haven as opposed to the ugly, soul-less, concrete monstrosity that is Les Menuires (that does in fact share the same vally at Val T).

Don't ski past your buddies if they have stopped. They might have spotted something you will want to know about....bar? nice untracked slope? crevasse...??? babe with nice bum...??

They have probably stopped for a good reason

Your off-piste guide also serves as a useful avalanche and crevasse indicator. Try to stay far enough back so that if he dissappears you can pull up in the intervening space.

NickW,

Better off-piste guides actually ski out of the danger in double quick time first and then worry about the clients second.

If you wait to see what could happen to them you may never live to tell the tale.
