Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pete1909, this particular post will give you a start, but the whole thread may be worth a read, slikedges is something of the short trip maestro now. http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=245317#245317

Elsewhere he links to here http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Airports/index.html which is also helpful for early planning.

Bon chance!

Innsbruck: 20 min transfer to Igls or even stay in the city centre and try a few different areas.

Munich: Kitzbuhel or Soll (90 mins). BA do a very late flight out (21:15 to Heathrow) or easyJet go to Stansted at around the same time... so you can get a full days sliding that day too and save a hotel night.

Weekend flight prices seem to be way better going to Munich/Salzburg side rather than Geneva.

Courmayeur - ideal. Done it twice. Drive from either Geneva or Turin whichever flight times work best for you.

Chamonix is ideal for weekends - 1 hour from Geneva and your hire car comes in handy for getting between the ski areas. While it is not ideal for intermediates, there is plenty of more gentle skiing to fill 3 or 4 days (Le Tour and Les Houche in particular but also bits at Flegere and even Gd Montets). I'd argue that it has the best scenary and mountain atmosphere in the Alps and as intermediates probably wouldn't choose it for a whole week you really should take the opportunity of a short break to experience it .

Pete1909, Have a look at Les Carroz. Very easy short transfer from Geneva and acces to Grand Massif which apparently has fab snow just now. Can recommend Hotel Arbaron in village centre. snowHead
