Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi - I need a new jacket for hiking and for ski-ing. Well actually I have decided I need two!! I warm up easy so I want one jacket that is waterproof/windproof and very breathable

- AND another with a bit of insualtion too for those really cold days .... apres ski .... and sitting around for 90 minutes at football matches!!

I was thinking of a a jacket in eVent fabric for walking - and ski-ing when it is not that cold - eg Montane Superfly XT or Rab Bergen/Lofoten - the trouble is they are hard to find under £145, or £175 for the Montane.

Anyone know of any decent mens ski-jackets in the sales at the moment?

One I tried on recently was the Salomon Preface which I liked - not sure if it is sufficiently waterproof though. Also it is £150 and although using Froogle I found the womens at half price, no reductions for the mens.

Thanks.

PS Also after a pair of gloves - might get the Phoenix Vail (in "protex"?) for £20 down from £30.
