Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Birthday Treat

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am thinking of treating myself to an early week this December for my Birthday (4th December).

I did have Sunshine Village in mind and skied it the same week in 2004. They had loads of snow and the whole place was open, but any ideas for somewhere closer to home??

johnboy, yes. Was in Stowe in December. Haven't been in Tignes in a few years.
Tignes: glacier, so guaranteed skiing. Closer, more expensive when there.
Stowe: can be very cold. early season snow not guaranteed, but there will be some open. (and smuggs is just around the corner). Further away, but cheaper when you're there.

Sunshine is a solid option, staying in the Sunshine in with Ski Independence is about £900 for the week. (Incl Air Canada Heathrow-Calgary, Transfer, Accomm, Lift Pass, 1 hr tuition per day.)

Any idea on doing it cheaper, ie DIY?

johnboy, you'll struggle to beat that. Does that include Belfast - London? (Ski Indy used to do supplements that weren't too bad for that leg)

You going on your own, or is Mrs Johnboy tagging along?

johnboy, have you tried emailing the Sunshine Inn directly? As its low season they might be able to do you a good deal including pass and tuition and you could book flights/transfers independently. I think their email is reservations@skibanff.com . Might be cheaper, especially if you opted for Zoom flights rather than Air Canada.

johnboy, well, you could tell him you were a friend of the real me, and he'll probably wonder who you are talking about, but then again, he might remember... (but it won't get you any discount)
