Could you give more details? You are a beginner, but what is your skill level? Have you ever stood on the board or not? If not, it's better to rent a board first, give it a try. Suddenly you will not like it, skis will be to your taste more.

I prefer B&B as I like the safety of breakfast being easily available in my accommodation but the flexibility of being able to choose a different venue for lunch and dinner as the mood takes me.
Half board can also be good if the chef is competent but full board is too much and you will certainly end up as a fat b'stard.
