Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

For no good reason I recently sold my really good shell jacket, since I had been in the hunt for a new one...probably about £250-300 for discounted top brand one (sport pursuit, etc). Not super keen on that since I rather spend on trips itself... a good second-hand jacket not much cheaper really and never sure about how well will fit when you buy online. I have neglected for years my very first ski jacket from decathlon, it is their mid-to-top range I think and actually very weather-proof... it looks nice, fits well but the problem is that I don't tolerate hot and it's well insulated... hardly get cold enough days that I would consider using it so tried to sell few times, no luck for a fair price really, brand-wise its not very attractive as second-hand sale, no matter how decent it is really.

So already regretting selling my shell and having nothing to lose anyway decide to remove the jacket's insulation - did few internal holes in the internal fabric and got all of it out. I will still try to get them repaired or all the fabric removed at all but overall I'm happy that saved some good money and helped a bit the environment upcycling something (to my requirements)...

Still not clear how will perform but it does feel promising! Curious to know if many more people done it ?!
