Poster: A snowHead
|
Mid April, 2 beginner skiers and 2 intermediate skiers
The travel agent - Ski Solutions - recommends Obergurgl or Val d'Isere
What does anyone think?
Thanks for advice!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Tignes (Val Claret) or Val Thorens, both villages are at over 2000M and will be snow sure, something for all parties

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you! Are they alright for beginners?

VT has a large beginner area with 4 (I think) magic carpets, with good areas to progress onto the pistes proper after. And if they are proper beginners, not having to worry about catching a bus to the lifts/piste is always nice as well.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you Fridge. Have you any knowledge of Obergurgl in Austria?

Long time since in Obergurgl, but I was a relative begginner 32 years ago. Cant remember anything that was at all scary. Also its Austria, and I would suggest a bit livelier in the evenings. Check, 'where to ski' website. Their book is now defunct, but any opinions as to begginer friendly can be relied upon in my opinion.

Obergurgl is quite high, and also you have Solden next door with 2 glaciers. Compact ski area, not lively in the evenings. Should be good both in terms of snow and suitability for you. Val D'isere has quite steep slopes back into town

Obergurgl is high enough and should be perfect for beginners, especially Hochgurgl, starting with December. However I can't imagine it in mid April. Way too late for that
Val d'Isere - all the green and blue piste in the Bellevarde area.
Val Thorens, as mentioned above
