Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

BootSoleLenght adjustment

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Guys,

Currently using boots in BSL298mm and would like to purchase new boots. Boot in mind is Hawk Ultra with BSL 290mm in size 25.
I currently ski blackcrows captis with 2018 Look NX12 b90 dual WTR bindings mounted.

My question if it possible to adjust it to new BSL without pre mounting or do I need to re mount the binding and drill the skis again?

Thank you for help,
S

@secevit, it depends on how the bindings have been mounted but there is usually SOME adjustment. 8mm difference is not massive so it's quite likely that you will be ok, but you won't know until you try it. I would recommend getting a qualified technician to look at the skis and boots together if you are unsure

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the prompt reply. Better to check with a technician to be on the safe side.
If needed to drill again will it weaken the ski do you think?

You can see how much your heel will adjust forward before you buy the boots. Assuming you just remount the heels the challenge will be to allow 10mm from the plugged holes.

@secevit, get the boots, try and adjust them, if they don't have the range, take them for re-drilling.

The heuristic is you can re-drill once without an issue.
