Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Stay in St Martin, Lessons in Meribel?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi

I have visited Three Valleys before and this year we will stay in St Martin de Belleville.

For various reasons, I am considering taking some ski lessons in Meribel and class is due to start at 9.15 each day. My plan would be to jump on the first gondola from St Martin at 8.30. I am comfortable on most blue slopes and, assuming no issue with Gondola, feel I will be able to arrive for 9.15

Does anyone feel the above is not feasible?

Thanks in advance

As the gondola opens at 9.00 not 8.30 I'm afraid it is not possible to make it to a 9.15 group lesson. If you are wanting a private lesson then the instructor can probably meet you half way.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Agree...Gondola opening is 9am, then the St M express opens at 9.10. St M express gets you to the top in under 10 mins. A fast skier can make it down to the bottom in Meribel by around 9.25am. (That means heading straight down the red run at the top and skiing non stop-I’ve done it). For group lessons, it’s only really going to work if your instructor heads up Tougnette and can meet you. If he/she goes up the other side, you’re stuffed.
