Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Never seen so much snow

It's been snowing non stop here for the last couple of days. Woke up this morning to find yet another 20cm of the stuff on my balcony. The road has disappeared, and trees are starting to fall over Shocked
Last night they reported more than 300Km of traffic jams on the Bavarian motorways. The Salzburg Autobahn was at a complete standstill.
I didn't think I'd ever say something like this, but enough is enough. We have had complete snow cover here since the middle of November. I want to see some grass for a change Sad

Its been snowing heavily here all morning as well. Looks good for my trip up to Bad Hofgastien at the end of next week.

Don't think its been as bad here as it is on the North side of the Alps this winter. I have seen grass for a couple of days wink

Perhaps you should have purchased the Outback. The extra ground clearance would have been useful wink ...or alternatively a Landrover Toofy Grin

The legacy has more clearance, or a smaller air dam, than the A6 had. In the end I just drove through it without bothering to clear it, so now I'll have rutted ice on the drive for the next week Very Happy

the forecasts are beginning to look like another big dump next weekend. Passed quite a few cars with chains stuck in the snow this morning, but our Fiat Multipla with four new Michelin Alpin tyres and no chains, did fine. We really pleased as we have only just acquired it. But also the first time I ever saw a black avalanche flag flying in our resort. The roofs of our three storey (new) apartment blocks are not designed to be cleared of snow, but how much can they take, especially of the clag which was falling last night? Minus 10 degrees and a clear starry sky tonight looks good. Got enough snow, and not much fun today out in zero visibility.
