Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Flybe- new ski baggage policy?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just booked my trip out for March with Flybe and when I went to book ski carrriage the option wasn’t there. Eventually managed to get in touch with them and get them booked on (absolute fortune since I’m taking connecting flights and had to book all four legs), but had to speak to someone in person to book it. Apparently that’s now standard with Flybe??

Twice she told me that the charge is for one set of skis, poles and boots. Now I’ve always crammed my clothes and the rest of my gear into my ski bag with my skis (sometimes two pairs of skis two), and was planning on doing the same this year (although just the one pair of skis), but this has me wondering if they may have changed their policy/tightened up on their rules?

Anyone have any experience with them this season?

(Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere- couldn’t find anything with a search!)

Flybe planes have limited space for ski/boards so maybe thats why you have phone to book.
Also one pair of skis could be to limit claims if luggage is lost?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Mr.Egg, is correct, but they also have some bigger aircraft on some routes which have a proper hold. If you are on a prop job then luggage space is limited as its basically a cupboard at the back. They are not that suitable for ski trips as they are designed for business flights with not much luggage. That said they do offer lots of alternatives from more regional airports. IIRC they also have a max length for skis so they can physically get them in.

Ah, hadn’t managed to find that on their site. Interesting since the first leg is on a q400 in theory my skis will be on a standby basis thanks to them being adult sized Madeye-Smiley . Since it’s an internal Uk flight I can’t imagine there’ll be too much other luggage on board!

Fingers crossed there won’t be too many questions about why my skis are so bulky! Cost more to bring the skis than the actual flight cost!
