Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I would suggest Les Saisies which is a beautiful resort with lots of gentle slopes nearest the village. We went there when our children were 5 and 8 and it is very family orientated. We stayed in Le Hameau de Beaufortain which was good but out of the main village. If I were returning I would be tempted by the new residence in the centre Les chalets des Cimes. We booked through Peak Retreats and went by train to Annecy and hired a car for the final part of the journey up to the resort.

In Les Carroz there are free nursery bits at village level (needs to be cold and snowy thouhg) but the main learning area is at the top of the telecabine. So upload in the morning, they can use the magic carpet and progress to the button lift, then you can move them on as you see fit. There is a restaurant there and also a picnic area and public toilets at the telecabine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Look for resorts that have the ski famille accolade, La Rosiere is one that I know of, would also suit you as the lift pass costs are considerably less than larger resorts nearby.

Praz de Lys is close to Geneva and fits your description very well. Sits on a high plateu with tree line and above skiing along with some great views across the Alps.

Very relaxed with really good beginner slopes right in village. Usually less than half price ski pass of larger areas, it has blue slope return to village right from highest point.

Village has a number of café restaurant etc right on the snow and facing the nursery slopes. There's usually a very child orientated atmosphere here with from toddler age wandering about, toboggans and beginners skiing, extremely family focused and safe.

It's more French focused rather than UK pointing, so info is a little sparse from here but it's well worth considering.

Les Saisies might be a bit far from Geneva compared to some other suggestions but probably more snow sure. Better range of skiing too but it will be crowded at half term (as will all French family resorts).

Les Gets is pretty good. Red bubble on Chavannes side up to massive blue pistes, two magic carpets and several restaurants. Nice village with loads for kids to do
