Hi @davej311,
If you don't find a ski buddy then would you think about travelling independantly?
We have availability in our chalet campanules for 10th - 17th Feb £550 per person with no single supplement.
Any help?
Heather

Hi Dave.
Whereabouts are you? I'm in Ashby de la Zouch, and off to Cervinia this weekend from Birmingham. Guess you're a bit late for that one.
Also in 50s(late).

@SteveBrown, Hi Steve, I'm in Cervinia now (arrived yesterday) and here for two weeks. Lovely conditions. Good snow. Almost zero winds and blue skies. Have a ball!

Hi esaw1.
Sounds great. I thought it could do with a bit more snow, and some is due Wednesday according to forecast. Do you know how often link to Zermatt get closed due to wind?
We plan to drive to Monterosa on the Friday(our last day).
Fancy meeting up? There's 3 of us going.
Steve.
ps. I see you're from South Wales. Love Mountain biking there, Afan and Brechfa. Also, Wales play France in Six Nations on Friday the 1st, so hoping to find somewhere to watch that. Allez les Bleus!

Love to meet up. It's my first time here but starting to get the hang of the Cervinia side. I'm skiing with a scgb leader and off to Zermat tomorrow. It needs a bit of an early start because you have to be coming back over by about three otherwise your stuck in Switzerland and by all accounts that's an expensive option. The winds seem to have settled and links are open and hopefully should be for a while. Local forecast is good for the next few days with, as you said, snow forecast on wednesday. The only mildly iffy snow I came across today was the last few hundred yards coming back down to Cervinia where it was a bit 'grippy/man made' but other than that it really was a delight.
Any questions then please don't hesitate to ask.
By the way, just turned 60 so you're even younger than me.
Ollie

Nice one Ollie.
We have one with us older than you .
We're hoping to be in resort by around midday. We play to ski the Valtournenche area on Saturday, just to get us up there as quick as possible. We're staying at the very begining of Cervinia, accross from the car park.
I'll PM you my telephone number, and you can contact me anytime from Saturday. 2 of us land Turin at 9:05, the other at 10:05. Hoping for a swift journey there in hire car.
Hopefully see you there.
Steve.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

The last part of the journey is spectacular especially as you hit the snow line and realise "yes, we have snow"! Have a good trip and hopefully we'll meet up.
Regards,
Ollie

I love driving in The Alps. I've done most of it in the summer though.
I've looked at some of the route on Google Earth. I know there's a tunnel just before you get to Cervinia, and our place is on the right just after that. Have you got your lift pass sorted for you two weeks. Maybe you fancy joining us in Monterosa on the Friday. That area looks pretty amazing too. There's an unpisted, but marked(black run I think), from Indren lift. Something I'd love to do, if I'm feeling brave enough. The 3 Valleys Champulac, Gressoney, and Alagna look fantastic, no way can a day do it justice.
Anyway, hope conditions stay great for you - and for us when we get there.
Hope to see you in a few days.
