We are travelling to Zell am See this year as a family of 5 adults and 2 children. The children are aged 3 and 1 so the youngest will not be skiing and we want to try the 3 year for the first time on ski's.
As either one or two of the adults will be having to look after the children at some part of the day, I wondered if we could purchase 4 adult ski passes and then share them between the 4 of the 5 adults that could ski at any one time.
The difficulty we see is whether the a photo is taken on certain lifts which match the individual with the ski pass.

Most ski passes are not transferable, so I very much doubt you will be able to do this legitimately.

Some resorts do special shareable passes for parents, but otherwise you cannot share normal passes- they are sold to one individual only.

We just all got a lift pass and would meet up on the mountain for lunch and swap child care duties there.
If you're looking at starting you 3 year old on skis the best slope is just above the Areitexpress alongside the magic carpet lift 27 it's a very small beginner slope just for kids that the ski schools don't use so it's very quiet. We then progressed to blue run 7 which is a very gentle slope more like a walkers track.

Ski Amade offer a parent pass for sharing between 2 adults with young children. Passports are needed when buying the tickets. You will need to ask at Zell am See if they offer the same. You can't share normal passes, it's forbidden and listed in the T&C. It is very likely you will get caught if you do share. Many of the lift turnstiles have a camara in them, and there are monitors in the stations with staff watching. Lift companies are very hot on this. Don't do it. Alternatively, maybe buy passes by the day or part day. HTH. Ange.

I've been to zell am see for the last 4 to 5 years and me or the wife have picked up the lift passes from the booth and have not had photos taken, plus we have got a hotel package which includes lift passes so there's no way there has been a photo included with the lift pass. You should be fine sharing a lift pass, it's not like you're sneaking two of you through the gate at one time.

Yes, some friends accidently swapped passes one day and 1 got pulled. They pulled up 2 photos of a person going through the turnstiles. 1 was Mr and the other was Mrs. He had to ring her, she had to ski and meet him and prove their genuine mistake.
They were stunned by the technology being used

Mr Flangesax was in Ski school today - teaching, he was stopped with his group after the turnstile, a child had the wrong pass. It was a mix up with a sibling. There is the technology and staff to implement. Ange.

Maybe this is why I see so many people skiing on lovely sunny days with their faces fully covered looking a bit like Darth Vader.

In many resorts the lifties get a bonus for each pass they catch being improperly used.
