Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wanted: Ski Mojo

Hi!
Taking my 6yo skiing for the first time in early feb (naughty parents taking him out of school!). my knees are shot so thought I would try a ski mojo but a little shocked at the price given I’m only going to use it for a week or 2 per year! Anyone selling?
Thanks!

If you're going to use 1-2 weeks a year I think it discounts itself to good value pretty quickly. They are £350-£400 or so, so say you use for just five years, then £70-£80 per year, which will be a small fraction of your total holiday cost

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@SirCharles, depends where you’re going to ski, but you may find some shops in bigger resorts renting them. For example, I know one in Tignes that does.

The ski mojo is seriously expensive without doubt, but my partner has had one for about ten years now (usually two holidays a year). It's an amazing bit of kit and worth every penny. I daresay they have made it better now but his is still going strong. He'll be using it again this year (aged 73) and having had a knee replacement last year - it will make sure nothing can happen to the knee joint if he wipes out!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the comments guys. Really helpful. Will check to see if they can be rented in Les gets. Otherwise I might just take the plunge and make the investment. If they last for years then the posted above is totally right - spread across a number of years it is very reasonable in fact!!! snowHead

So that is about the same as a fairly budget pair of boots.
Or a mid range pair of skis.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Erm the mojo is a good bit of kit and Martin is pretty good anout selling upgrade kits so you avoid obsolesence risk but it doesn't pretend to be a prophylactic against knee injury. Even high end functional braces limit their claims in that regard.

It’s ok. I know the ski mojo isn’t an insurance against all eventualities!!!

The choice for me is skimojo - or no skiing. No brainer. Keep an eye on ebay & amazon for second hand

I may even consider selling mine for the right price! It's the previous model, never been used and it was sent back to them recently to upgrade any parts that needed to bring it up to the new model spec. One of those things though.... had it a few years as I have stage 4 arthritis in both knees but year before last I skied 2 whole weeks and didn't need to use it. Probably be like the insurance quandary though..... only need it when you don't have it?!

@SirCharles, hi would you be interested in buying mine? It’s never been used but strangely enough there’s a bit on the Velcro that has worn through but it will have zero effect on it, purely cosmetic. If so please message me?
