I consider myself a good intermediate Skier but I haven't had any recent lessons and have never actually had lessons whilst away on holiday.
I am thinking it would be worth a few hours one day for private lessons for me and my partner to brush up on my skills and eliminate any bad habits.
I am asking you experienced bunch for some advice on booking a private lesson (Sauze D'oulx March 18th for a week If this helps) Is it best to pre book through an agency or can I arrange when I am there?
What is best practise and any recommendations would be most welcome

@Jhead91, finding a good one is key...personal recommendations from clients or snowHeads who live/work locally a good method..
Up to you but adding 'Sauze D'oulx' to the title of your thread may alert locals and encourage them to reply? Or snowHeads who've visited there and had lessons themselves recently.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sauze-online is a good start. You shouldn't have too much difficulty booking in resort though.
If you get up to the Sportinia area there's loads of instructors hanging about, as most lessons begin there I think.

Hi Jhead
Did you book private lessons when you went to Sauze? Our group is off w/c 10th March next year and one of them just wants a couple of hours private tuition over 2 days as opposed to group lessons this year... I've looked on Sauze online and you can only book 3 or 6 days lessons...?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

My ex decided to get some lessons when we were out there a couple of seasons ago, we just went in the afternoon before to the office under the Clotes lift and booked her a slot for the next day without much fuss, all she had to do was report to the little hut thing they've got in the Sportinia bowl.
She did say there was quite a difference in the 2 instructors she had though, she seemed to be a lot happier with the progress she'd made with one rather than the other, but that might just have been a personality thing

you're an optimist if you reckon you'll eliminate bad habits in a couple of hours

No I think it's called Savoia Debeli… so maybe a walk to Clotes afterall? Very mixed reviews on TripAdvisor by all accounts but there's 6 lads going and a 40th to celebrate in-between so I think the all night "Ghost Bar" everybody seems to whinge about next to our hotel will come in handy

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

The Savoia is only a short distance from the Clotes lift (100m?)

Not sure I know that one, if you're next to the Ghost bar it's only a short walk away, plus you'll be able to ski right back down to your front door (the signs say not to ski on the sledging bit at the base of the slope, but everyone does!).
Ghost bar is pretty good, bit cramped, but some live music on some nights and some superb bar snacks served with your drinks.. the chorizo is amazing!! Don't forget to get your stamp card to get free drinks later in the week
