Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Parking in Belle Plagne

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, driving to Belle Plagne in Feb 2019 (crazy half term week) and hoping to book covered parking in advance. La Plagne website allows booking for all other villages except for Belle Plagne whose car parks seem to be operated by another company but I can't find any way of pre-booking. Has anyone booked in advance for Belle Plagne? Thanks!

When I went I booked through the apartments (Pierre Vacance I think) but it was a s**tshow. They seem to sell more tickets than there are spaces so you end up double parking for the weekend.

Hel123, where are you staying? When i stayed Belle Plagne, parking went with the accommodation.

We're in the Phoenix apartment block - no parking with the rental unfortunately. The owner sent me a link that was apparently working for booking last year but doesn't seem to be active this year (www.parkings-belle-plagne.com).

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Hel123, have you looked at https://www.la-plagne.com/station/acces-station/parking.html ?

The "PLANS des Parking" suggest there is direct access to Phoenix from the underground parking. And the "Tarifs" gives prices and an online booking site: www.parkinglaplagne.com

thanks @ecureuil, I have seen that one - you can book every other car park in La Plagne except for the 2 in Belle Plagne on there I think! There is a phone number on the map you linked to, but not sure my french is up to trying to book over the phone Smile

@Hel123, in a resort like La Plagne it's quite possible that their English would be good...or you can resort to the ol' Google Translate email.

I gave them a call, not English speaking unfortunately!, didn't catch everything he said but the end result was 'le reservation n'est pas possible' .... not sure why when it has been in previous years. So next question is - if I book the covered parking in Bellecote instead is the only way between Belle Plagne and Bellecote via the gondola?

There is no direct bus service between Belle Plagne and the other villages in La Plagne. You need to take the Télécabine lift between Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecôte, which shuts at 23:45, from where you can then take a bus to the other villages.

@Hel123, I'd get somebody with better French to telephone again - it does sound an ideal location for you. But there might be a good reason (it's not impossible that in that week the parking is already fully booked).

Good idea, maybe leave it another week or so as it could be that they simply aren't open for reservations yet. (The official La Plagne app YUGE is still on summer!) or call the tourist office who will speak English.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Thanks for all the info. I had a reply from the Tourist Office saying that they are not doing any advance booking this year for Belle Plagne - no explanation why though. Not keen on risking there being a space so have booked Bellecote covered at 60E for the week.

 You know it makes sense.

@Hel123, I'd say that's a safe option, as I mentioned above it was chaos when I went last year. I'm 90% sure that there's a shuttle bus that goes between La Plagne and Belle Plagne so you should easily be able get back up the hill. I believe the underground car parks in BP also have a 'drop off' type thing that you could use to dump bags as well....although worth double checking before you go through the barrier!

@SnoodlesMcFlude, You're right - I think they do have a free one hour drop off thing. Good job with the amount of stuff we take with us!!
