Poster: A snowHead

I'm sure there is. In some resorts in France, certainly, a few local families own most businesses. And the cartel which keeps ski hire prices so high in St Anton has long been a factor. |
Yep, there's the family cartel thing in both Morzine and Ischgl, the resorts I ski most. It does seem to be a bit different when it's a family rather than a corporation running things though. A corporation will always have a single view of things while a family will always have an uncle who doesn't like the new apartment block his niece got to build next to one of his chalets because her daughter's going out with the mayor's one, so helps fund his cousin's new bar, two doors down from his niece's place. Etc.

Off to Oz en Oisans in Jan. Not likely to hit the village feel but will give me a chance to check out Alpe d'Huez. |
As an aside that is an excellent choice of location for the ADH area if you are interested in the skiing rather than any apres. Oz is a nice little station with great access to the area and good home runs. But there is only a couple of restuarants and bars. I've been there ~5 times.

Les Coches is a great little village with easy lift system access into Paradiski . Great little village square with assosciated restaurants and shops and supermarket , yes there are a few tourist buildings but they are in keeping with a savoyarde feel of the place . definitely got to be a consideration

@jamesford, your first post on the forum, bumping a 2-yr old thread, to promote your (I assume) website. Smells of pork luncheon meat to me

SPAM necro.
Would it not maybe be best to either prevent thread resurrection, or at least to prevent that being done by people with zero or very low post history? I'm just thinking that I bet almost no legitimate users would ever do a necro - it's not difficult to start a new thread.

NK is lovely this time of year;
3 July Day of the Strategic Forces: A new holiday established on 24 June 2016 by Ordinance No. 1177 of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly which commemorates the foundation of the Korean People's Army Strategic Force on 3 July 1999.
27 July Day of Victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War: The 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement
2 bank holidays in July, seems better than UK already!

@Mr.Egg, How helpful of you to quote the spam so that the link is preserved.

I started reading this thread, not realising it was so old. I came across a really helpful comment about Saalbach, and I thought to myself how knowledgeable and informative the comment was. Then I looked and saw that it was me who had posted it.
So part of me was happy about being so clever, but another part of me is worried about my early onset dementia.
