We have a ski trip to Les Arcs 1950 booked for new year and we got told last night by Booking.com that the owner is cancelling our booking as they are now giving it to a long term winter rental (thanks very much!). This is a nightmare as we have all our flights, transfers and lift passes booked and now nowhere to stay at peak season.
We are a family of 3 and our dates are Tues 27 December to Tues 3 January (odd dates as we have to work around school term time) - can anyone recommend any accommodation options in 1950, 2000, 1800 or 1600 that we might be able to try please before we lose a lot of money.
Thanks very much.

Really sorry to hear that. We’ve always booked with Erna Low or directly with Pierre et vacance to stay in 1950. I think unfortunately though they have always been Saturday to Saturday. I’ve found Erna Low to be very helpful if you wanted to get in touch with them.
If a mid week start date causes issues in the resorts I wonder if it’s worth looking on Airbnb to see if there is anything in Bourg? Wouldn’t be at all ideal but at least you’d be at the base of the mountain and could perhaps get the funicular up each day? Not ideal at all I know.
Good luck

Trouble is with AirBnB that, like booking.com, there's always a risk of cancellation if they get a better offer. But yes, Tuesday-Tuesday at that time of year is going to be VERY difficult.
All those suggestions are worth trying. Peak Retreats are indeed very helpful. You might find your best bet to salvage your holiday is to spread out to a Saturday either side of your dates - it will probably be either that, or stay down in the valley. Not much consolation - you must be gutted.

If all else fails, this is all that's left.

Perhaps try www.chaletsdirect.com / generally independent owners with a bit more flexibility. I’m seeing some Tuesday to Tuesday offers for New Year - post your requirements on the Solutions Room. Good luck

@TOOTIE, What a bummer, have booking.com offered to help?
I had a similar experience with a large group booking last summer, at short notice they had no other options for us but agreed to pay for us to stay somewhere that cost a fair bit more

https://www.hotel-basecamplodge.com/en/ would appear to have availability for your dates, not ideal as it means getting the funicular each morning amd possibly more expensive than your initial holiday

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@TOOTIE, I hope you are getting booking.com to pay the extra costs. This happened to us with a booking for Shetland in the summer. We had overnight ferry booked, the owner cancelled and the only place left to stay was double the original. Booking.com paid all the extra costs.

Yes luckily the person who cancelled on us paid the difference after a bit of negotiation. Quite a bit of stress but ended ok.
