Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm sure lots of you have travelled from Cologne to Zell am See by car, has anyone done it with a big motorhome? Will a normal satnav do the job or do I need a motorhome specific one? I could do without getting it wedged somewhere and turning it into a convertible Embarassed

Google maps on my smartphone did a very good job of getting us from NE England to Italy in my van last season, I have a Garmin sat nav for my bike, it's cr@p!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It will be pretty much highway all the way. There aren’t any narrow road or mountain passes to tackle going into Zell. It’s on the Valley floor with big roads.

If you are worried about, alternte routing, lane restrictions, route bridge/heoght, weight restrictions get a truck satnav, otherwise a regular decent one with latest map update shouls suffice.

I have experience of driving with a truck satnav - specifically a Garmin 465T. Whilst it can be reassuring to know that your route is ‘probably’ okay, it’s a right royal pain travelling along the minor roads of, for example, France where there are many fictitious restrictions recorded. Several times I have had to resort to car mode just to get out of a pickle.

Truck navs are considerably more expensive so I’m in two minds whether they’re worth the extra money.

Sounds like we may as well just give it a go with a normal sat nav, cheers
