Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Swapping standard liners and shells?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Is there any actual reason why not to give it a go? Boots of 1 shell size apart (different makes , same normal 4 buckle modern design), each with a heat-mouldable liner of exactly the same rear height, and visually of very similar design and construction, but the shorter liner seems made of much thicker material and overall looks 'chunkier' and wider at the midfoot and around the ankle and calf. Both worn in to my foot shape, not packed out, and both already covered in stick-on fitter's foam to hold in my skinny ankles and legs (both in already 'LV', 'narrow fit' boots).
So, just wondering if I'll do any irreparable harm swapping in the 'smaller' liners to see if I get a nicer overall feel/fit. (Both shells are technically the same quoted last but obviously vary within the boot.) Kind of feels that with the added foam I've already lost the precise match of liner and shell's heel pocket design etc.
Not for many reasons ideal, I know: but might be an interesting experiment in the absence of bring able to get hold of Zipfits or super-thin boots at the mo?
Cheers.

@Grizzler, why and how would you do any harm to anything?

But I’m not sure I see the benefit... if one or other set up already fits...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You can put whatever liners you like in your boots and pro tip it's a hell of a lot easier to pack an extra pair of liners on a trip to field test.

@under a new name, I don't know why, but doubtless had I tried it without asking then someone would have pointed out that I was doing damage... So worth checking.
Point is, neither set up fits comfortably or well enough. Just a chance that a swap might (I stress might) work better for various reasons.

@Dave of the Marmottes, My exact thought, weight wise.

@Grizzler, it might well. Worth a shot.
