Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi there,

We are booked to spend Christmas in Tignes (1800) 2 adults and 3 children (15,14 & 11) can anyone recommend somewhere to book for Christmas dinner please? I have googled endlessly and can't find anything!

Many thanks in advance.

Most places will now be closed until the end of November, so booking may be difficult.

You could do a lot worse than look at Trip Advisor for restaurant reviews, but you won't know if they are taking bookings until they return for the season opening.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for your reply! I hadn't even thought about that, I will keep researching until November and then look properly again.

Not in 1800, lets face it, there's not a lot there restaurant and nightlife wise. But I would book La Queue de Cochon in Lavachet, and do it very soon via Messenger of phone. If I was not coming to the UK that's where I would be. You will need the bus up and down, clearly.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Onelasttime74, May I suggest you get around the resort as soon as you arrive and call into the restaurants to enquire about Christmas dinner. Christmas eve is one of the restaurant big events along with New Year's eve. The restaurants get booked up quickly and the prices will be sky high. Get in early. The next day (Christmas day) will be just a normal day with normal menus and a lot cheeper. It will not be Christmas dinner.

Last (free) bus back down to 1800 has been at midnight in previous seasons.

@Onelasttime74, I don’t know if your self catering, but if you are a company down in Bourg does various prepared meals including Christmas dinner. They will deliver or you can collect on your way up the hill.
Might not be what your after but I know my family prefer not going out for Christmas lunch rolling eyes

There is a decent supermarche where you are and you can get some very nice food which would take v little prep that’s already cooked, I think I would think about that route. There is one restaurant where you are but I haven’t ever tried it.

You need to think about what you want to eat and when. If you want to eat turkey and the trimmings at 2pm on Christmas Day you might be out of luck.
