Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Head Supershape i.speed size for indoors

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I currently have Head Magnums in 170 as my indoor ski and I'm wondering about changing these to i.speeds because well you know .... never too many right Toofy Grin

Anyhow, I'm looking at some 163 i.Speed's and wonder if they'll be too short for me. What do you think ?

My stats:
Skiing 7 weeks / 3 seasons
Hemel once a week summertime
Probably 8 on the IOS Scale
175cm tall
Middle age lardy 92kg / 202lb
I can't see myself joining a race club but I wouldn't want to rule it out.
Looking purely for indoor.
Nothing at all wrong with the Magnums.

The reason for the 163 is purely because of a deal at the moment, I don't need new skis but if y'all think they'll suit for my purposes then I might pull the trigger. Previously, I have been looking for 2018 magnums in 170 at a decent price.

What do you think, to short for my stats ? My head thinks 170 would be a better fit but they're not on a deal Very Happy

Cheers
djf

FIS Slalom mens skis are 165 so I dont think 163 is tooooo short. I am taller than you and use SL skis indoors..

Keep the magnums for an out ski

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

163cm will be fine. I have the exact same skis, when I dont have my SL skis on indoors (which are 160cm) I pur these on, and indeed use them outdoors too.

Great ski Happy

My indoor SL skis are 164 with an 11.8m radius I think. I'm 180cm /82kg.
The more serious guys in the race club ski the ladies FIS standard 155cm indoors, including one guy who towers above me. I don't think you need worry about 163s being too short indoors.

163cm is a good length for doing lots of one-footed drills...

I ski weekly at MK SnoZone, 1.85 tall and 100Kg. I use Head Black Veyron Limiteds in 163cm and they're fine.

So, I've been thinking. Chatting to people at Hemel today as well as the comments above I've decided not to go for the i.Speed's. I've decided to look into differences with them and SL skis and maybe go along that path and keep the magnums. Anyhow, thanks for the advice (seeing SL everywhere in the above threads made me think a bit more Smile ).

One thing also, just if anyone else is looking "Sports Direct" are currently offering 20% off anything bought via their App until tomorrow. Some skis are overpriced (i.race) but some look good value. Might be worth it to someone. Will add to the bargain thread too.

You wouldn't be out of place, and it would give you an excuse to 'need' some SL skis Wink
