I have a pair of 2015 Technica Cochice 110 boots with replacement tech soles for pin bindings.
Not the lightest for the up but fine on the down.
I have a wide [>100mm] forefoot and very large medial maleoli [inner ankle bones]. Consequently, getting boots to fit has been a bit of a nightmare.
I went to Profeet to buy the Technicas and frankly was not impressed [they managed to stretch the boot at least 30mm from the ankle point where I needed it] ... also there is a fundamental issue of having a bootfitter in West London when you are in extreme pain up a mountain in Europe....
After many further stretches in various places on the boots in various shops around the world, I now have an absolutely perfect left boot and a right boot that needs the forefoot widening a bit more and the inner arch flattening slightly.
So the difficult question is ... do I sort the right boot out with yet more stretching and then replace the, now packing down, original liners with Intuition Tour [not sure Pro or Wrap] liners? The shells are very stretched but in not too bad nick.
Or do I give up and find a new set of 50/50 Touring boots?
I don't know how boots have progressed since 2015? I don't do long skins. It's more a way of getting to better snow. So superlight boots are not a necessity.
I was possibly looking at something like the Salomon QST PRO 130 TR as it has the mold-able shell for my weird feet?? Though I am slightly worried that at 130 they may be a bit stiff for me.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

I am just not keen to repeat the experience of having a worthless comfort guarantee due to a lack of geographical proximity!

@FoofyNoo, in the absence of better advice I’d get new liners if you need them.
Sounds as though those were not really the shells for you... although you might just have weird feet.

Yes ... you are correct with both statements.
The decision is also complicated by the current cheapness of new boots in the sales.
There is not much difference in cost between new liners and new boots.
Does anyone have any experience of the Salomon QSTs?

@FoofyNoo, ...IMHO the Salomon last shape went bonkers about three years' ago, after a good long period of the very sensible X Wave last shape. Their Mondo sizes stopped corresponding to any reality I have experienced previously or since, and while the deep heel pocket means excellent hold, when you get the sole length right the arch is way too tight and low. On my feet that is. yours may be different - but I think that all this means try before you buy and be serious about whether they really fit or not. I have some Lange RX 110 in the wide last and they are excellent. I have some Cochise too - the old blue and orange jobs with the odd buckle-based power strap - after a big blow for my bunions (done in the wrong place by a high street outdoor company and then in the right place by a specialist), they fit perfectly.

I have the QST pro 120 which had to be modded at one side and gap fillers used near my skinny ankle. The boot is so light compared to my old Nordicas it’s unreal. Best Buy so far in terms of fit and in usage

I really don't know ... a good boot fitter would help but who realistically has all those boots in stock in my size to try?
The QSTs and the Hawx both have moldable shells which make me slightly less worried about the fit but then again the Scarpa's [which have Intuition liners as standard] get such great reveiws .... as do the MTNs

@FoofyNoo, I have the Scarpa. They are good, I have hobbit feet and they seemed a poor fit trying them on but we’re spot on after a professional fitting. One thing they do have a high arch.

@FoofyNoo, I also have the QST Pro 120, which were fitted by a guy in Bourg St Maurice. Very comfortable and light as well as easy to get on and off.

Scott Superguides are pretty wide and high volume so might be worth a try. Mine are great for my wide forefoot but I had to glue some packing in around my skinny ankles.
