Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Superbagnères is the name of the resort. Luchon is ok.

The skiing in Peyragudes is better plus it is where they filmed the start sequence of Tomorrow Never Dies.

If you are going off-piste try my site:

Haven't been there myself, but have considered it quite closely. One thing that isn't very well advertised is that there's a ski bus to Peyragudes, which quite nearby. That effectively doubles your ski area!

I used to go to Les Agudes, as it was called then, on French exchanges during the 1970's. It's now linked with Peyresourde and is now called Peyragudes. We used to spend 2 weeks there each Easter ski-ing, managing with one chairlift and 3 drags. I remember being amazed on my first trip to the Alps at the sheer scale of the resorts in comparison.

The Col de Peyresourde often featured in the Tour de France. We used to stay in a little village called Gouaux de Larbouste, where another family with a holiday home there were the Bonnet family from Nantes, who had / have a large kitchen company, Cuisines Bonnet. (Beatrice Bonnet was my first teenage crush...) Also always remember a place nearby called le lac d'Oo. Lovely name and very pretty.

Bagneres de Luchon is from memory a pleasant spa town, about 20 - 30 minutes drive down from Peyragudes. Superbagneres is probably a little closer to Luchon. Gourette is another resort quite close by.

Of course the resorts don't admitt comparison with Alps, but Luchon valley it's a nice place!! In front of you (south) there is the highest Pyrenees! About Luchon resort, really it's not the best, Peyragudes is nice one, and an hour by car you have Saint Lary Soulan, another big one, and with some good spots. In the other direction, an at another hour by car (maybe less) you have Baqueira-Beret (In Spain). This is the best, with good snow records and you can found the best snow in the Pyrenees. The difference between Baqueira and the rest of Pyrenees resorts is the off-piste terrain......nice one... links to differents photos (I don't attach all the photos because they are a lot, and the lasts are too big)

Luchon - twinned with Harrogate (for its similarities as a spa town, not because of the Yorkshire town's skiing facilities, unfortunately!)

Sorry not much use for someone staying in SuperBagnères though! I skied there for a couple of days but was mauve piste standard at the time, can't remember much about it apart from the friendly people and small resort ambiance.
