Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@BobinCH, ...hi Bob...stupidity in Crans re Commune and CMA lift co - so we are in St Luc - perfect snow - huge amounts at the top - just having a coffee waiting to get bus to funicular having done loooooooooooong red from top of hill to the bottom - avi 3 so being a bit conservative in the soft ....

Les Marecottes - a gorgeous little place, well worth a day out! But perhaps wait til next season...

Gondola up from the sleepy little village. We arrived at the car park around 8 and there wasn’t another soul to be seen until 5 to 9 when the lift opened. Once up there’s one fast chair and a long button. A couple of nice reds & blues off the top. Loads of accessible off piste between the runs and in the trees but we didn’t because of the conditions. It was all getting a bit slushy and hard work by noon.

Spent a while in some perfect rollers by the button, and there’s even a valiant attempt at a boardercross with all of 3 turns!!

Fabulous lunch in the (only) restaurant and now we’re heading for the zoo!!

At St Luc it’s pelting down ... huge flakes right to the bottom ... and cold enough to stay in good condition ...

@valais2, ok - Chandolin st Luc - drove up to the top car park at Chandolin - now a 5chf per day charge but that seems cheap for parking which is 10m from the lift. Drive to st Luc but keep going up the hill to Chandolin - ignore sign to La Foret and just keep going until you see the lift on the right and the car park. St Luc Chandolin all chairs and drags, unlike vercorin which has the big gondola for bad weather circuits. The resort sprawls across the north side of the Illhorn - and the tree lined runs stay in prime condition - then over to St Luc for the massive runs from top of the hill to the town - no-one on them and perfect surface - then the navette back to the funiculaire and up to the top again. A long day of wall to wall skiing. Stayed off the extensive off piste bec of avi warnings.

Another hidden gem - Ovronnaz!!!

Absolutely beautiful, practically deserted yet really well maintained. 3 fast chairs and 2 long drags give access to a good range of pistes including a couple of nice blacks. Huge off piste area, although the best bit is closed today while helicopters circle trying to blast it safe in time for the last weekend of the season. Met a couple of the local skiers mournfully looking at the closed / avalanche danger signs, and they told us the closed sector is huge and has fantastic off piste terrain. Definitely enough here for a couple of days! And less than 20 mins from Bains de Saillon which is a great overnight parking spot.

I’m afraid you’re right!!! snowHead snowHead snowHead

And what’s even better is that after a fantastic holiday in Switzerland, instead of heading home we’re off to Val Thorens for the SH Family Bash
