Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Madonna di Campiglio

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a place for ski-hire in Madonna that hires out above average kit. Also I'm thinking of getting some footbeds whilst there and would appreciate comments on any of the shops as regards bootfitting etc. The resort website doesn't seem to have any links to kit shops

Any recommendations for restaurants, pistes, bars, etc also greatly received. I've seen the thread from Nov/Dec 05 mentioning the Cascina Zeledria. The snow is looking great after the weekends dumps.

Cheers

Crispy

P.S. Love the site. Have lurked for 2 years now on and off. snowHead

Can't recommend anywhere in particular for ski hire in Madonna; the place we went to just off one of the squares (at the bottom of the Belvedere run) was OK but quite small - not sure custom footbeds etc would be their thing!rolling eyes

Madonna is not great for restaurants; there was a good value pizzeria/trat on the hill going down into town, the little stube below the Hotel Diana had excellent food and a nice atmosphere; otherwise nightlife is quite quiet! There is a bar/nightclub just below the main square but I can't remember the name! Best bar for apres is the Swiss bar in the main square.

Ski over to Marileva and Folgarida while you're there. There are good intermediate runs everywhere but nothing stands out.

There's a great restaurant on the run back from Pradalago to Madonna (on the left hand side off the piste) - good for a sunny day when you can sunbathe on the balcony while you wait for everyone to finish lunch. They give you a lift back to the slopes after lunch! Little Angel Good 'rifugio' on the right half way down the Groste run.

Have a great time!

Never had Bombardino before - always been a fan of vin chaud at about 10:30 just to loosen the legs after the first few morning runs. Toofy Grin

Didn't notice them in Cervinia, but then didn't notice may slopeside cafes there either. Was only there for 3 days in Dec 2004. Looking forward to trying a few.

Salute!
