Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Touring equipment rental & long-term parking in Stubaital Valley

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi folks,

After a failed Haute Route attempt last year we're going to give the Stubai Glacier a go. We're staying in Neustift and looking to rent the full package for a few days, starting on a Thursday, back Sunday. Can anyone recommend a decent store in the valley? We've a car so should be up and out of the apartment by 8am the first morning. Should we rent at the bottom of the Gamsgarten or in the Neustift village? I notice there are two intersports close by there? But also right at the base of the glacier (& top station).

Also, since we'll have a car and will be checking out of the apartment Thursday morning until Sunday night (then driving to Solden) could you recommend a safe place to ditch the car? Is there parking at the base of the Gamsgarten?

Many thanks

Parking for the Dresdner Hutte is right at the very top of the top car parks (beyond the older Mutterbergalm gondola station - drive past all the buildings) - just tell the parking officials that you're staying there and park in the signed area. Never had to show any booking confirmation etc when we've been there

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Would it be safe enough to leave a car there for a few days?
