Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Airport Nightmare - Advice needed

Hi all,

First time flying into a resort and although google flights showed a flight from Manchester to Grenoble, when booked through EasyJet I have actually realised the flight is to Lyon Saint Exupery.. we don’t land until 19.15 and I am really struggling to find a transfer to Les Deux Alpes, I really don’t want to have to spend the night in a hotel cause we’ll lose 3 days of skiing in total Sad

Can anyone suggest something ?

Can’t find anything from less than £250 .. that’s more than the flight itself

@JGSKI, how many people are you?

It's pretty common for transfers to resort to cost more than the flight...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There is only two of us.. the transfers from Grenoble are only 50 pound for a coach which would have been perfect

Probably cos Grenoble is a lot nearer to L2A than Lyon! Just look on the transfers groups on FB, otherwise car sounds best bet. Or blag way onto a coach at the airport, but it sounds like you aren't doing a full week so that may be difficult.

Just type in les 2 alpes transfers in Facebook. Tarentaise transfers is the biggest, but sometimes has mentions of L2A.

@JGSKI, get a hotel on site (or sleep in the airport) and get the 05:30 ouibus for €32? Arrive in resort for 09:15 so no need to miss a day's skiing.

Or, as you have to change at Grenoble anyway, get the bus to Grenoble on arrival day (as they run later), get a hotel in Grenoble near the bus station, then get pick up the bus from Grenoble bus station on Sunday morning.

This is a great idea.. or there may be a chance of catching the ouibus to Grenoble at 8 o clock and getting the last Bensbus into Les 2 Alpes at 10... how long does it usually take to get through and collect baggage at Lyon Airport does anyone know ?

Never used it myself but I think blablacar is fairly popular way to carshare in France, might be worth a look.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Just be careful, Bensbus services Grenoble airport, which is most definitely not Grenoble Bus Station where the shuttle bus from Lyon Airport goes to.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

There is a bus from Grenoble bus station to L2A though.

@Hells Bells, Yes but the last bus to LDA / Bourg d'Oisans is not very late as I remember which I think is the OP's problem, a fairly late arrival at Lyon. Getting the shuttle to Grenoble Bus Station, hotel by the bus station and then early morning service bus is probably the elegant solution. Not marvelously cheap though as I think the shuttle bus is quite expensive ? Sleeping in the airport and an early morning shuttle is the cheaper way, sleeping in Grenoble bus station is not a viable option imho Laughing

@skitow, no definitely not. There's a reasonable Ibis hotel not too far away.

We ended up booking a hotel right by the Grenoble Bus station, will stay there over-night and take the early shuttle bus to L2A at 7.30AM the next morning.. hopefully get there in time to check-in, pick up the skiis and get on the slopes! Thanks for all the advice.
