Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Oakley Flight Deck v Flight Deck XM?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I currently own a pair of Flight Deck goggles, which I purchased a short while before the launch of the XM version. I'm more than pleased with the performance of them, but can't help wondering if the XM would suit me better size wise.

So, my question is... Has anyone switched from the original Flight Deck to Flight Deck XM's?

As a side, is anyone attending the EoSB who owns the XM version? If so, would you mind if I tried them for size during that week?

I own FDs and my daughter owns the XMs - and my opinion is that if the FDs are comfortable, then stick with them, as they have even better all round vision than their smaller sibling.

If the FDs are too big, then the XMs should be perfect. If you don't like the way you look in FDs, that is a matter of aesthetics....and it's your money. Toofy Grin

@Scarlet, many thanks, will do.

@Old Fartbag, Yes, the FD's are comfortable and fit well. Just not 100% sure if they're slightly on the too big side. Probably would never have been an issue if they'd never released the XM's. Just curious I guess.

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have the FD and my OH has the FD XM’s. The only difference is the size, nothing else. My FD’s have a slightly wide range but performance is identical. I won’t say I have a big head but prefer the FD’s and still fit snug with my helmet.

That's also the case with mine.

Is this not the case with XM's?

@Izzop, My OH's XM's fit snug too. Maybe she has a slightly smaller head and helmet combo.

The XMs have a bigger field of vision that my A Frames, but not as big as the FDs. If the FDs didn't exist, I would be quite happy in XMs...but they do and as I like as wide a peripheral vision as possible, I went for them.

I've got a big head, but was really surprised by how well the FD's fitted me when I tried them on in Austria last week. Oakley are usually small on me, but these had a great fit and good peripheral vision.
