Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Super Morzine at Easter

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

We are considering an Easter holiday to Morzine and wanted to know if you can normally ski back to the top of the super Morzine lift at this time of year (looking at 8th-15th April)?

We were there last year (skiiing in Avoriaz) and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of skiing on offer considering it was such a poor snow year so am hoping for better this year! Last year couldn’t get near to the super Morzine lift and mid way through the week you could no longer ski down to Ardent. Is this usual or should we be ok?

Thanks,

Fast ted

Impossible to say at this stage as it depends how the weather goes the rest of the season and in to April.

The run back to the S-M isn't that exciting at the best of times let alone with late day spring slush (though does give you an excuse for a vin chaud in the 'cat and dog' hut) so bubble+bus is often more pleasant.

Try the home run down to the bottom of the Prodains gondola. As it's in a deep gorge with reasonable tree coverage it can often hold up better/stay open longer than the run to Ardent.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi Mjit, the run back to SM appeals as we will be in a group with lots of kids some of which haven’t skied a lot so long greens are good for them and the bar at the end is good for us! More than likely staying nearer the ardent lift so getting picked up from there or Morzine centre would be better. I appreciate you can’t say, but just wondering if you can most years? Or is it 50/50? Worse?

Last year was awful for snow but still managed to ski down to ardent for most of the week.

They did put a lot more snow making facilities in that area during the summer, to try and keep the link open longer. Personally I always use Prodains and enjoy the run down, even at the end of the season when it's all chopped up and there are lots of brown patches.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Fast_ted, Ardent home run more sheltered and has more cannons I think. S-M somewhat in direct sunshine...

Who knows?
