Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easter Skiing Advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

We do flaine every feb half term and are off in 4 weeks, very much creatures of habit.

This year instead of a long summer holiday (going to Dubai for a week instead) we've decided to do a second week skiing in April (7th - 14th). So i'm looking for some advice to hopefully meet the criteria below for a high resort.

What /where would you suggest and hotel recommendations would also be appreciated.

Criteria -

Reasonable transfer from Geneva.
High resort.
Suitable for 2 adults and 2 children (boys - 11 & 16)
Intermediate (social skiing adults - like blues) and kids like to be pushed in lessons.
Reasonable accommodation and things to do on a night. Night clubs not needed with kids lol.

We're going to saas-fee & chamonix this Easter, never been before. Last year we were in Monterosa and loved it, no night life, but great skiing.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We ski every Easter in Les Deux Alpes mainly because it is a glacier resort so guaranteed snow. Secondly because we have a motorhome and stay in a beautiful campsite in Venosc in the valley below. Def worth a look .

High will obviously work, but I would have thought that with it not being a particularly busy period you would be better to wait until a week or two before and then finesse current conditions and upcoming forecast.

Last year, for example, there was some great late skiing at most altitudes, but other years not so much.

I also did monterosa last year. It was fantastic. Also done Ishgl and Zermatt, which are both good bets if you need to book a bit ahead. I would say that Zermatt especially is at its best in the spring.

Spring Family Bash - Val Thorens from 7th-14th April. Might suit you - there's about 50-odd SnowHeads* committed to it, some of them your boys' ages.

High resort, easy to get to from Geneva. Loads of cruise-y blues and reds, and adults to ski them with. And some steeper reds and blacks to test the teenagers. Snow is reliable for Easter, and later, as many SnowHeads will attest.

Accommodation for the SFaB is the Hameau du Kashmir; it's self-catered, but good quality.

Of course, if you want a hotel then I'm sure you'll find one in VT, in which case you could still join up with the gang for a bit of social skiing with the Snowheads.

*some SnowHeads are more odd than others.
