Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are has a special place in skiing life. I first went there for 4 days when I had just done 5/6 days self taught skiing and the first evening met up with 3 lads staying in the same hotel in the bar. They kindly invited me to join them the next day and I learnt so much from having to force myself to follow/ keep up. Visits to Are became a regular part of my skiing life for the next 10 years and I saw the resort expand into something like its present form. It will always be a bit special for me

Back in Åre with the family for “sportlov” (half term). Beautifully clear but a very cold start! Seems like some temperature inversion going on as it’s ‘only’ -14 C in the high zone.

Great day. The minimasterpiece tried his hand at ski touring. Just a half hour walk from the top of fjällgardsexpress. And some really nice snow on the way down Smile

@Sack the Juggler, wasn’t too cold in the end. Our place is on Årevägen.

We're going on the 17th for 9 days. We are really looking forward to it.

@Themasterpiece, do you know much about local buses once the night ski buses stop on the 11th? We are staying in Tegefjall again.

@thecramps, should be great. Lots of snow and cold weather this year.

Don't know much about buses, but just googled the local bus timetable http://ltr.se/mbpts-changes/linje-157-duved-are-jarpen-morsil/. M-F = Mon-Fri, L = Sat, SoH = Sun and bank hols. Doesn't seem to be an obvious stop in Tege though. I'd imagine the skistar reception in Tege will be able to help? Taxi's could be a bit costly.

@Themasterpiece, Oh aye, we know about the taxis. Not the cheapest. We aren't too fussed, will probably only have one evening out anyway, but evening bus is handy for topping the fridge up and looking round the shops. Will give Skistar a ring and ask about the 157, thanks. Let me know if you discover anything else on your travels. Thanks.
