Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cervinia ski school for kids

Hello,

We’re staying in Cervinia next week leading up to Christmas. I’ve contacted a number of ski schools for our 9 and 5 year olds, and it does not appear that any of them offer more than 2.5 hours of group lessons at this time of year (10-12:30pm). My wife and I would like to ski over to Switzerland on a couple of days, but I don’t think we’d make it very far with those constraints. Perhaps we’ll add a private lesson in the afternoon one or two days.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations among group ski schools in cervinia/Valtournenche?

We're going on Friday and have booked 2 x 3 hour private lessons for our 3 children.

Just wanted to add that we went at the same time of year a couple of years ago and went over to Switzerland with the children - then 6 and 10. They'd had a few lessons before we went but it was their first ski trip and I think we went over on Day 4 - they were fine with the skiing (we went down to Trockener Stag from Plateau Rosa, then got the cable car to the very top, and skied down the Italian side again - so not masses of Zermatt skiing but some). We're planning on going over again this time (in fact if you look at the Zermatt / Cervinia post in the Snow Report section, you'll see I asked the question and got some very good advice about how best to get more Zermatt skiing with the children).
