Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New 2017/18 Volkl VTA 98

Ski touring ... Has anyone out there got experience of the new Volkl VTA 98? (vs Scott Superguide)
My skiing time is mostly spent ski touring - day tours and high altitude hut to hut.
So ... weight is a real issue ... I do my best to max my fitness but every year it does get harder!
If I'm in a resort I try to avoid pistes - the torque and bumps is a bit too much for my damaged knees!
I was thinking of the Scott Superguide 95 but wondered if it is a bit soft in tip flex (having played with them in shop).
But ... I havent handled the Volkl VTA 98 and haven't skied on either.
The Volkl website give them a good write-up (of course).
I have only found one independent review site - but it didn't give a decent enough description of how the ski performed compared to other similar skis.
The Superguides are cheaper and seem to have good Scott pre-cut skins.
The new "vacuum stick" Volkl skins get poor reviews.
Thanks for any input!
