Poster: A snowHead

Morning all,
without needing a degree in meteorology, which is the best app or website to follow for decent snow reports?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

The individual's reports on here for the resort you are going to. If you want an app style presentation with all its limits then in France use Meteo France.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Bergfex snow forecasts are incredibly optimistic.

I'll precis snowforecast for you
Mondays report - it will snow on Tuesday
Tuesdays report - it will snow on Wednesday
Repeat for remaining 5 days.
It's the TO friend, you get on the bus and they hand out the sf report for the coming week, guarantee it will snow on Wednesday and it's the girls/boys night off on Thursday so you can't moan about it.
Check in with the local forecasts on sh:s and you won't go far wrong.
Note I have a lifetime subscription to snow-forecast.

Honestly I find them to under estimate as often as they over estimate (though usually they're more conservative than snow forecast etc), but I never expect their (or any other forecast that attempts to predict cms for that matter) forecasted number of cms to be correct. It's worth looking at more in terms of whether they're forecasting a dusting, reasonable snow, big dump, etc.
In terms of general weather forecasts rather than snow I think they're pretty good.

The website of the resort you want to check out. Generally they will only show a maximum of 5 days out, which is sensible

@twoodwar, I am very unconvinced by Monterosa’s chosed forecasting partner....

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

The Unisys 9 panel charts can be useful for longer range stuff but no doubt from the same models.

@gazzaredcruiser, the iSKI apps are back this season with a new format. They always seem to have snow a week out and then a string of zeros. But who doesn’t like a random number generator?

You know it makes sense.

Wxcharts.eu
But mountain weather.... wouldnt look beyond 3 days & still take it with a pinch of salt
