Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Munich to Mayrhofen 13th Jan

Howdy All

A few of us are flying into Munich on the 13th Jan for 4 days skiing in Mayrhofen and were thinking about hiring an MPV at Munich and driving down. Will be landing about 10am so I'm guessing we'll be setting off at 10:30/11 ish...

Having driven down to Soll a few times I know the autobahn down to Austria is normally v busy and tedious, but I was wondering:

a) Is still just as bad or have they improved it?
b) Would that day be a bit better with it being a "quieter" Saturday
c) Would the traffic still be as bad at that time?

Cheers All

@mauddib, quite a bit of roadwork activity around Munich and a bit as you go over near Kufstein. It will take you two and a half hours I would have thought.

We did it in 2 hours recently but at 8pm at night.

@mauddib, if you go via the mountains it takes about 2.45 hours but you could ski at Achenkirch/Christlum for a couple of hours in the PM before going to Mayrhofen. Makes the most of the day.
