Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

En route back to Blighty from a fantastic 3 days in Engelberg. What a start to the season! Snowed all day Saturday above 1500m, but visibility was poor and one of our trio fell badly dislocating his right shoulder, which has potentially ended his winter on the first day...sh*t. Sunday was very busy but lots of fresh tracks mainly to the right of the Jochpass chair, and intermittent sometimes heavy snow which continued through the evening down to town. Monday was amazing! Bluebird cold empty slopes and a total of 45cm new at the top from the weekend dump. Steinberg rocked! Lapped many times with shin-knee deep fresh tracks on each run. Had a look at the top of a virgin Galtiberg which was so tempting...but potentially very risky for avalanches in the lee of a strong wind plus the new snow. We decided against then checked with the lifty at the adjacent drag who advised in no uncertain terms that it was not at all feasible due to insufficient snow on the rocky lower section so with hindsight relieved we didn't go. Finished the day instead playing in the trees next to the valley run very nice
Fab conditions with full nearly shark free coverage from 3000m down to 1000m...in November! Pics to follow.
