Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi guys, new to the site so pls be gentle! I am skiing Inn Austria for the first time this season and flying to Salzburg. I need a transfer from the airport to Brixem in the Skiwelt area, does anyone have any tips, companies or advice?

If you are travelling alone, the easiest approach is to take the train - trolley bus to the main station from the airport, then train with a change at Worgl - 3.5 hours, €43

For 3 or more, private taxi or hire a car

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@philcbarrett@outlook.com, Welcome to snowHeads! snowHead
I can't offer detailed knowledge of transfers to Brixen, but ousekjarr's suggestion of train if you are travelling singly sounds good.

P.S As webbots trawl internet sites for people's email addresses for spam purposes it might be an idea to change your snowheads username. You can do this by posting a request to this thread: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=98726 Madeye-Smiley

You can find details of trains on the Austrian railways, ÖBB, website. The station you want is Brixen im Thale. The trains take two routes, either through Kufstein and Wörgl or through Schwarzach-St. Veit and Saalfelden. In many cases you have to change trains en route (either at Wörgl using the northern route or Schwarzach-St. Veit or Saalfelden on the southern route). There are a few through trains on the southern route. On the ÖBB website you can see the full route of the trains by expanding the entry (click arrow at left end) and then clicking the train number, e.g. EC113 or REX1158, at the righthand end of the entry. This makes it easier to see where the train goes. Just ask if you have problems (and no doubt the info at Salzburg station will tell you which is your best train and where you must change, if necessary).

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There's also this page on the Salzburg airport website about transfers: http://www.salzburg-airport.com/en/passengers-visitors/arrival-parking/bus-train-taxi/taxi-transfer-service/

The drive across from Salzburg to the Skiwelt is pretty easy going and takes about an hour if you choose to hire a car
